#StopRussianPropaganda Google Chrome extension

#StopRussianPropaganda Google Chrome extension participate and use the powerful tool against Kremlin propaganda

#BanderaKaratel – remember this Twitter hashtag? Did you even use it yourself and added it to Twitter accounts, which obviously spread Kremlin propaganda, used to mark these accounts?

If so, then you have actively contributed to the creation of the database on which Twitter accounts are listed, which spread Kremlin propaganda – in the course of the last few years the number of accounts listed has steadily increased, in the meantime 331000 accounts have been listed and there are more and more – at the beginning there was the hashtag #BanderaKaratel. The results collected from it, have been transformed by Ukrainian volunteers with tireless work into a database. This database is now the basis of the newly developed extension for the browsers Google Chrome and Firefox. The defence against Russian manipulation on Twitter was thus brought to a new functional level.

Appellation: Please report Twitter accounts that obviously spread Russian propaganda

if you are watching Twitter accounts that are obviously spreading Russian propaganda, you can sign up on the database, log in and easily submit a message. The moderation team then checks the account according to clearly defined criteria and lists the account if it turns out that the account actually spreads Russian propaganda.

In the comment field it is desired to insert links to tweets proving the distribution of Russian propaganda.

A Ukrainian team of volunteers and developers have now developed an extension for Google Chrome and Firefox browser, which once downloaded and integrated in the browser, will compare all Twitter accounts on your computer’s screen with the database described above in a lightning-fast process. All accounts already listed on the database are highlighted visually, marked in red and crossed out with a red line. (You can set the color to any color.

For example, if I want to investigate an account as a journalist or researcher to see how far it spreads Russian propaganda or interacts with Twitter accounts that spread Russian propaganda, I have a very efficient tool at my disposal.

Example:

Twitter Account of Markus M. Müller >>>

Reviewing the Twittertimeline of Markus M. Müller’s Twitter account with the help of the Google Chrome Extension (there is a version for Firefox)

We recommend the use of this free browser extension #StopRussianPropaganda Google Chrome extension for all those who do not want to be led around by Russian propaganda – but especially for all journalists, researchers who deliberately deal with the topic of Russian propaganda.

The NGO Schweiz Ukraine (swissukraine. org) has supported the development of the extension from an existing donation fund.

But the big work was done by volunteers in Ukraine.

Russians say: „We came to make fiends with you“ – The disease spreads slowly but surely.

Yes. They (the Russians) do not say „we came to kill and rob you“.

They say:

„We came to make friends with you.“

But the essence of their activities lies in the consistent strengthening of their influence.
First through the Russian „friendship societies“, as a springboard.
Then – Russian propaganda. As a preparation for the attack.
Then buying up the country. Buying property, buying up companies. Purchase or organization of financial institutions.
This is an attack. And – dictate their terms. This is an occupation.
The disease spreads slowly but surely.
Everyday. A vivid example is Ukraine and Germany. The attempt to get rid of the disease gives rise to terror.
The threat of existence to the regime of internal (Russian) occupation generates war.
Ukraine – is an example.

@Prizrak_opery

I have a clue. Which I want to share. But I do not know how to tell this to people. Now I’ll try to formulate.
Even when these events began, I wrote an article https://sunrise-ukraine.livejournal.com/1872.html
The essence of the article is that in Ukraine the Russians bought up the entire energy industry. The Russians bought up the entire communication system. And Gontareva and Poroshenko destroyed banks with Ukrainian capital and gave preferences to banks with Russian capital.
In fact, key sectors of the economy were bought by Russians. Do I need to talk about the origin of this money?
The article proposes to adopt a law that prohibits the sale of strategic enterprises of Ukraine to Russians, and structures with the origin of capital from Russia.
In Ukraine, this problem is no less painful than war.
And then I watch. First a story with a German fund. Which, upon close examination, works in the names of Russian propaganda. Then a scandal with a German bank, which was constantly controlled by the Russians. And used by the Russians to launder money. Further I learn that many companies in Germany have already been bought by Russian
And I see that the entire system is working for a split in Europe. It works in the interests of Russians. And the Russians continue to buy key enterprises and banks around the world. It is clear that all this is for money, which the KGB of the FSB and the onyge – the encirclement of Putin have pumped out of Russia. This is oil and gas money. It is the trade in drugs with weapons.
What I want to say.
There is a danger no less terrible than Russian propaganda. For any country. This is the danger of buying up strategic enterprises and financial structures by Russians. The organizations have a capital of doubtful origin. Or having capital of Russian origin.
And until laws (at least analogous to the struggle against Russian propaganda) are adopted, the Russians will work to split and plunder the countries. In which they are buying something. An example is Germany. There are many people who are in favor of Russia. So we get the bombardments in Syria. And the annexation of the Crimea. And an armed attack on the Donbas. Under the guise of Russian propaganda.
And buying up key enterprises and banking structures in some country will lead to what it was harassed in Ukraine. To war and blood, to protect the capital and property that the Russians own in Ukraine.
People do not see this danger and do not understand. Help, please bring it to people. Prohibit the Russians in your countries from buying strategic enterprises. Otherwise, do not have time to recover, as in your country there will be a „Russian world“.

Abuse of children for political purposes – Matryochka in Zurich, with the UNESCO label

As a „report“ of the Central Body of the Russian Hybrid War RT (Russia Today) dated September 4,2009.2017 – 06:15 a. m., the Matryochka School operating in Zurich is involved in the abuse of children for political purposes – (illegal entry via Moscow to Crimea) Interesting will be what UNESCO will say about this circumstance, because the school leads on its homepage the UNESCO logo.

The Swiss-Ukraine Association (Swissukraine. org) points this out: The illegal entry into Crimea annexed by Russia in 2014 is „a crime with serious legal consequences“, according to Ukrainian ambassador Andrei Melnyk.

For example, the German techno-titan H. P. Baxxter (Scooter) and his band, who also illegally entered the Crimea via Russia, are facing criminal proceedings and face a sentence of up to 8 years imprisonment.

The EU and Switzerland do not recognise the forcible occupation of the Crimea by Russia in 2014.

The Swiss Government, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) is therefore also very clear about this:

Crimean peninsula:

From Switzerland’s point of view, the Crimea continues to belong to Ukraine under international law, even though it has been effectively controlled by Russia since mid-March 2014. Due to the current situation, the Swiss embassy in Kyiv cannot grant consular protection in Crimea. The further development of the situation is uncertain. Travel to the Crimean peninsula is not recommended.

Comment:

The intention of this project seems clear: under the hypocritical cloak of „international understanding“ and „child recovery“ education, etc., politically blatant attempts are being made to disrupt the EU’s non-recognition of the forcible occupation of Crimea by Russia in 2014.

In its architecture and design, this „children’s crimea-journey“ could have come from the Kremlin’s textbook on the art of decomposition. The violent occupation of Crimea by Russia and the serious violation of international law are to be rendered invulnerable by such „child-faced“ actions and measures.

Note to the verdict against mass Killer General Mladic and teaching ignorance in western society

I am talking as a Swiss citizen from the perspective of a inhabitant of Europe in 2017:

A note to the verdict against mass Killer General Mladic – the Genocide of Srebrenica in summer 1995 with more than 8000 killed civilians in a few days –

Why is this not in a central spotlight of interest in our western society? Why for example most of western TV station don’t transmit directly from the court? Why most western politicians are silent about?

The Serb General Mladic is the worst war criminal in Europa since the crimes of Hitlers Killers in WW2 – why our society and its leaders on all sectors are not interested to confront spiritually, mentally and intellectual with the largest crime against humanity in Europe since the WW2?

1. reminder: The Genocide of Srebrenica happened under the eyes of alle western leaders – it was not secretly done – there was satellite intelligence and people on place, who recorded live.

2. Reminder: The Genocide of Srebrenica was not destiny like an avalanche – UN had enough tanks and firepower on place to stopp and avoid the Serbian killing machine. But the decision process inside UN was blocked by particular nations!

The structural fatal problems of our UN-Organization exposed dramatically in the Genocide of Srebrenica 22 years ago, still system immanent in UN: Lesson not learned from Srebrenica! Horror crimes against humanity will be repeated again and again!

This UN-Problem exposed through Genocide of Srebrenica an endless crimes against humanity in Syria and Crimea can be solved very easy. Exclude any stakeholder involved in war crimes, crimes against humanity & international law from any UN-decision process.

I asked my children who are in one of the best school in Switzerland – „did any of your teacher spoke to you and your class about the genocide of Srebrenica and the verdict against General Mladic, who is the worst War-Criminal in Europe since the Nazis?“

The answer of my children is: „No, no one in our school spoke with us about that“!

Both of our children on November 23. 2017, when the worst war criminal in Europe since WW2, General Mladic was sentenced for life, in Swiss School had a normal school day and not one single word was said about

Instead our Children were taught on this historical day in:

German, English, French, Italian, Chemistry, History, Physics, Geography, Sports, Artistic design

I am not optimistic for a society who is teaching its children and citizens ignorance towards worst war crimes against civilians, against humanity and international law.

After WW2 or further back after the 30 Years‘ War 1618 – 1648 in Europe – there was not this ignorance like today – the fundaments of our international law and human rights was written – we must be more carefully for these fundaments of our civilisation!

“How the democratic West should stop Putin” Prague Declaration on seven urgent steps proposed by Western security experts

Prague Declaration on seven urgent steps proposed by Western security experts

“How the democratic West should stop Putin”

organized by the European Values Think-Tank

About The Prague Declaration

This Prague Declaration lays out seven urgent steps the democratic West must to now to stop the Russian aggression. Response of Western democracies to this threat has been “weak”, because “large part of the Western political establishment still does not recognize the kind of threat we are facing”.

More than 100 European and American security experts and parliamentarians from 21 countries have signed this public call which urges Western leaders such as EU High Representative Federica Mogherini to “stop trying to avoid naming Russia as the main source of hostile disinformation” or to make pratical steps such as to “triple the capacity of EEAS East STRATCOM Team.

The signatories of this Declaration represent all major sectors of Western political and security establishment – from a Vice-President of the European Parliament, architect of Magnitsky laws Bill Browder, through main architect of Finnish response to Russian disinformation who served as Director of Government Communications at Prime Ministers Office of Finland, or former President of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. The signatories are also leaders of major U. S think-tanks such as the Brookings Institution or the American Enterprise Institute, UK’ Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, The Polish Institute of International Affairs, Estonia’ International Centre for Defense and Security, French Center for Study and Research on Political Decision, Slovak GLOBSEC Policy Institute, Hungarian Political Capital Instituce, Czech European Values Think-Tank, or Latvian National Defence Academy.

The Declaration

The aggressive actions of the Russian Federation, are unprecedented in post-Cold war history: more than 10,000 Ukrainians killed while defending their country against invasion, the first annexation of territory by force in Europe since World War II, constant violations of other countries’ borders and airspace, kidnapping foreign citizens, unprecedented use of disinformation, bribing of politicians, direct financial and logistical support to extremist and paramilitary groups, hostile interference in democratic elections, and constant cyber-attacks.

Yet, despite all these hostile actions by Moscow, the response of Western democracies has largely been limited and weak. Many excuses are being made in favor of appeasement, such as the alleged need to cooperate with Russia to combat terrorism, despite all the evidence contradicting the notion that any kind of effective cooperation can realistically be achieved. We also see efforts to put business as usual before the thousands of killed and the safety of our democracies.

Vladimir Putin has decided to intimidate and harass democracies and a large part of the Western political establishment has not realized it yet. Vladimir Putin has decided to play divide and rule in the Euro-Atlantic area. Some countries get intimidated by threats, others are given promises such as seemingly sweetheart energy deals if they adopt a more anti-Western, anti-democratic and anti-liberal posture. Regardless, almost all countries are attacked with a mixture of espionage, corruption, organized crime, and unceasing multi-level and multi-channel disinformation campaigns.

Whereas the United States is investigating a clearly hostile penetration of its utmost democratic sanctuary — meddling with the election process — no such investigation has been initiated anywhere in Europe. This remains a fact even though there were clear cases of blatant Russian meddling in the Dutch referendum, the British referendum, the Italian referendum, the French elections and, most recently, the German elections and the Catalan referendum. In all these cases, the meddling aimed at weakening the West, weakening the democratic system, creating more chaos and further divisions in our societies. While the EU and NATO are the primary targets, their defensive responses remain rather limited. This clearly shows that a large part of the Western political establishment still does not recognize the kind of threat we are facing.

The signatories below, all Western security experts, agree that the following seven steps should be taken:

 • STEP 1: POLITICAL LEADERS NEED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE THREAT

Putin’s Russia poses a major threat to Western democracies. Its use of subversive tools to project hostile foreign influence in the internal affairs of democratic countries is unacceptable and should be countered with resolute defensive actions to deter further hostile conduct. Such self-defense counter-pressure is largely not happening. If Moscow does not stop, additional sanctions targeted against family and close-circle members of the Russian leaders should be imposed to put pressure on them to discontinue such actions. The Kremlin currently perceives the lack of punishment as an invitation to continue or step up its aggressive actions.

 • STEP 2: INVESTIGATE AND EXPOSE HOSTILE ACTIVITIES IN THE NATIONAL CONTEXT

Russian short-term campaigns aim to influence specific national elections and referendums. To provide in-depth accounts of Russia’s subversive efforts in individual countries, national parliaments should form investigative panels to collect and discuss evidence of Moscow’s influence and disinformation operations. Since transparency is the best tool the democratic West has at its disposal, this is the only effective and perfectly legitimate way to present the public with the full scope of this malign threat.

 • STEP 3: RESEARCH WHAT RUSSIA HAS ACHIEVED

When looking at how these long-term hostile efforts shape public opinion, EU member states should together conduct targeted research (for example with the use of detailed polling) to obtain clear data on which segments of their society believe the most common Kremlin disinformation narratives. Only such comparable and in-depth exercises can expose how far Moscow’s efforts to sway public opinion have already reached.

 • STEP 4: EMPOWER THE ONLY EXPERT BODY ON THE EU LEVEL

While national institutions are tasked with analyzing and defending their domestic environments, EU institutions too need to defend themselves from this threat. As EU leaders decided to make EEAS counter Russian disinformation campaigns two years ago, the specific team (East STRATCOM Task Force) is still gravely understaffed with only three national experts focusing on this particular and crucial task. EEAS should triple the capacity of this team so it can finally start fulfilling its mandate in earnest. Three experts working alone on this task who, moreover, are not even paid by the EEAS but by their home member states simply cannot perform their tasks assigned by the European Council. Hiring at least seven additional experts paid from THE EEAS budget clearly cannot be an issue, given the size of EEAS staff and budget. At least three years after Russia launched its massive disinformation campaigns, there are many gaps in empirical knowledge as to how successful their narratives and messages have been. EEAS East STRATCOM Task Force has proved itself to be the pillar expert body in Europe with specialized knowledge and is widely respected within intelligence and security establishments; therefore, this unit should be transformed from a temporary assignment into a permanent EEAS structure and provided with at least one million Euros for targeted research. As there already are allied structures to coordinate messaging on ISIS, a similar structure should be put in place to counter pro-Kremlin disinformation.

 • STEP 5: CONFRONT THE AGGRESSOR POLITICALLY

Despite the seriousness of this threat, few Western political leaders are calling out the aggressor. For example, the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini has spent the last two years trying to avoid naming Russia as the main source of hostile disinformation. If Europe wants to defeat this threat, its leaders need to call it out by name. Russian leaders need to hear from European representatives that these hostile subversive efforts against our democracies must stop.

 • STEP 6: SET UP A WORKING GROUP OF LIKE-MINDED EU & NATO MEMBER STATES

Despite the fact that at least twelve EU states take this threat seriously, these are mainly small-to-medium sized countries that have not been able to work effectively as a like-minded coalition. While this complex threat can be defeated only by collective action, countries concerned with Russian aggression need to set up mechanisms such as a working groups to start taking real joint action, like message coordination.

 • STEP 7: SPREAD UNDERSTANDING OUTSIDE THE SPECIALIST COMMUNITY

There is comparatively limited understanding of Russian subversive methods in Western European countries; therefore, Central and Eastern European governments and civil society groups need to actively engage in delivering lessons learnt from countering Moscow’s hostile influence operations. So far, the sharing of information and experience has been rather limited. While the Western community of experts on Russian influence and disinformation operations is emerging, there is an urgent need to deliver basic knowledge concerning threat assessment, understanding the modus operandi and reasonable policy options to people outside the specialist community. Extensive training and briefings for non-specialists within Western governments and political establishments are sorely needed. Central and Eastern European governments and civil society groups need to actively engage in delivering lessons learnt from countering Moscow’s hostile influence operations to their allies in Western Europe & USA.

Funny – its no doubt the same Dr. Severin Fischer. How is that possible? On the SPD homepage he is explaining, he lives in Berlin Germany.

But at the same time on the homepage of Center for Security Studies ETH Zürich we can learn, he is working in Zürich Switzerland – really, how is this in the real live possible?

Its not a crime to live in Berlin. Its not a crime to work in Zürich Switzerland. But what is about both on the same time? How is this possible? Who will explain?

What is Dr. Severin Fischer, CSS ETH Zürich and SPD Berlin saying about Nord Stream2 ? You can be sure, nothing negativ, not one word.

Exactly the same is on the homepage of CSS ETH Zürich:

Or here, only positiv arguments for collaboration with Putins money machines:

Gastbeitrag US-Sanktionen gegen Russland schaden Europa.“ Von Severin Fischer

Somebody really could start to ask, is Dr. Severin Fischer actually lobbying for Nord Stream2 ?

If you like to understand, about what Dr. Severin Fischer is talking and writing all the time, Nord Stream2:

Its a company based in Zug Switzerland. CEO is Matthias Warnig. He was a Stasi Hauptmann. We can show you a picture where you find KGB agent Wladimir Putin and Stasi agent Matthias Warning at once. Its all in these documents, from the Stasi Akte of Matthias Warnig.
http://miamioh.edu/cas/_files/documents/havighurst/stasi-documents.pdf

By the way, Gerhard Schröder is Verwaltungsratspräsident of Nord Stream 2. And we learned also, there is more than only a link between Nord Stream2 and people in the Swiss City Zug, they worked some decades ago as western economic hub for the Stasi, in the aim to bypass the sanctions against the Stasi Regime.

 • täglich in sogenannten „Schutzzonen“ systematisch zivile Ziele schwer bombardiert

Kasowitz:Trump

The Russian connection of Trump’s lawyer Kasowitz – the next Russian connection

by Sven Reinhardt and Simon Gerber

Who is President Trump’s lawyer?

Kasowitz worked for the law firm Mayer Brown. In 1993 Kasowitz, 18 lawyers and two clients left Mayer Brown to establish the Kasowitz Benson Torres law firm.[4][12]

He has also defended Bill O’Reilly from allegations of sexual harassment,[13] and is defending Sberbank of Russia. Additionally, Kasowitz represents a company run by a Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who is a very close friend of Vladimir Putin and who employed Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort for several years.[14]Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Kasowitz

The law firm of #trump’s lawyer Kasowitz, source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kasowitz_Benson_Torres

Marc Kasowitz, who has been Trump’s go-to lawyer for years on both personal and business matters, is defending a Russian bank, OJSC Sberbank, in an ongoing lawsuit in US court. He also represents a company controlled by a Russian billionaire, Oleg Deripaska, who has close ties to the Kremlin.
Kasowitz‘ clients with Russian ties may not pose any legal conflicts of interests as he prepares to help Trump navigate an investigation that the president calls „a witch hunt.“ But the optics of the situation — a lawyer with Russian-linked clients representing a president, whose campaign is being investigated for alleged collusion with Russia — could make a messy situation for Trump even messier.
Kasowitz is also listed in a federal lawsuit as an attorney for Veleron Holding BV, an investment company controlled by Deripaska.
Deripaska has served as a representative of Russia on the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council and was photographed with Putin at one of the council’s meetings in 2006.
Kasowitz serves as an attorney for Veleron in a federal lawsuit under appeal involving Morgan Stanley.
In 2008, Deripaska invested about $19 million in a business venture launched by Manafort and other partners. The partnership invested in a Ukrainian telecommunications company – Black Sea Cable– but the deal failed.

#Putin acts like #EU and #NATO is his territory – watch this video!

Did somebody listen exactly what and how Putin talks on his visit to Hungary on February 07. 2017?

Its absolutely shocking how he obviously is acting from a position, he thinks he is the only strong leader of the world and he can act without any limit.

Imagine, Putin is on his visit in the EU- and NATO-member Hungary and he is acting like the big boss in his territory!

You should not miss this video with subtitles!

Russische-Atomwaffen

Lets imagine

 • western governments, (including Switzerland) would be fully aware of what is going on on the stage of geopolitics,
 • would adequately evaluate the deformation process of the whole Russian society, which is in a high degree similar to the nazification-process of Germany before WW ll,
 • would fully aware see and understand how Russia with its occupation and Hybrid War against Ukraine with more than 10 000 killed people, is violating main international law,
 • would catch the dimension of Russian mass murder in Syria,
 • would recognize the ongoing bullying by Russia of several nations around the globe with its nuclear weapons, air force, ships and submarines,
 • would understand, how Russia is driving a Hybrid War and decomposition against Europe, certain European countries, and against USA
 • would be carefully watching how Russia is expanding its sphere of influence with the tools of its Hybrid Warfare, in USA, in western countries, using money and any form of economics,

Lets imagine, western governments would act in solidarity with Ukraine, Syria and the baltic states, also in their own interest, and would absolutely decisively defend the main basic of our western civilization and law and order, the international law

 1. western governments would close all Russian Embassy and Russian diplomatic agencies
 2. western governments would exclude Russia from the international payment system SWIFT, in few days the Russian finance system would collapse
 3. western governments would block all Russian property and assets
 4. Russia would be excluded from any decision process in all UN-chambers

until Russia would fully withdraw its soldiers, its weapons, its ammunition from the whole territory of Eastern Ukraine

and

until Russia would withdraw its gigantic military power from occupied Ukrainian Crimea and would end its criminal occupation of Crimea

and

until every single damage caused by Russia and its Hybrid Army in Ukraine, is fully compensated , including all the victims, the families,

the restrictions against Russia would be held up firmly by the whole community of western countries –

yes, the criminal, monstrously dictatorship in the Kremlin Russia can be stopped – no doubt –

its in our hands, the time window to act is still open, but, we all know, the clock is ticking.

Swiss minister Schneider-Ammann, in style of Trump (maybe after his telephone conversation with Donald Trump with fully support of Trump) he for a traditionally neutral Swiss minister extremely engaged in lifting sanctions towards Putin & Co.

Looking deeper into his family imperium with several offices in Moscow – we can understand better why and also why he talks after his phone conversation with Trump like Trump would be the hope for Switzerland in his understanding.

„#Swiss minister Schneider-Ammann makes himself a callboy of #Trump and #Putin – this is to shortsighted for a Swiss Minister“

the NGO Swissukraine.org declares.

A small country like Switzerland must be engaged in uphold of the international law and not the opposite, ramming a knife into Ukraines back, driven by a minister, who’s family is engaged in Moscow business – this should be the neutral Switzerland?

Postponing the confrontation with #Putin and Co. brings the world closer to the abyss

Yesterday on UN security-council 3 hours secret negotiations with Putin & Co, after the mass-killer from Aleppo threatened, he will veto any resolution in this UN-gremium based on the request from France about UN-Monitors in Aleppo –

this morning the official information, the world community had to pay a high price for a compromise found only by luck with Putin & Co., to avoid its veto –

This morning the first information about the last night „compromise“ found in the UN-security council says:

Putin & Co has always the option to veto any move and any action of any UN-Monitor in Aleppo.

And already the french government is announcing:

Thanks this compromise it is possible to avoid a second SREBRENICA“ (The genocide in the UN-Safety-Zone where in Bosnia 1995 in only three days more than 8000 civilians were systematically killed by Karadzic/Mladic & Co.)

Sounds good, but:

Once again, it is in first line and in fact the avoiding of any serious confrontation with Putin & Co. We can see this backwards walk by the civilized world since the occupation of Crimea in 2014.

With every further backward step by the world community and the civilized world the free world, all forms of law, international law, human rights, and the whole civilization with it, gets closer to the abyss.

Putin & Co. needs clear limits – like every criminal, every mass murder – why the police is acting with firepower and real weapons when any killer is violating the freedom of any other person or is breaking in to someones house?

The compromise at UN-security council from last night – we don’t know the details – I only hope they didn’t gave Putin & Co. any guarantee not to investigate their war crimes and crimes against humanity – I wouldn’t exclude such a dirty deal – we will see it later –

there is still gigantic naivety and lack of a functional consequence against Putin & Co. meanwhile he is acting on world stage like a skinhead –

two years ago violating international law and the Budapestmemorandum, occupying Crimea, and conducting a double twisted war against Ukraine –

since then we saw Putin & Co pushing for BREXIT, now what is going on in the USA with the last elections –

and still nowhere is a real resistance against this ex KGB officer Putin and his bunch –

there is a powerful sharp weapon to confront and stop Putin & Co. in its bloodlust, even a Russian economist recommend this measure:

#stopRussiafromSWIFT !

The upright people in our civilized world should coordinate immediately its power and organize a real resistance against the plage Nr. 1 of our time:

Weltkrieg anrichteten.

u redu za vodu – waiting in the line for water, Sarajevo 1993, Edo Ramadanovic

If the monster is not stopped in time – endless talks with #Putin & Co

In Spring 1995, when I was held as a hostage by Karadzic / Mladic’s war criminals for 34 days, he has his place on the bunk right next to me. He at those time was a 20 year old Russian sniper from Moscow. He told me how he had shot from the hills around Sarajevo as a sniper at civilians in the city of Sarajevo – that was during the siege of Sarajevo – the people were forced to cross the streets because there was in their Houses no water, no electricity, no gas – so if they wanted to survive, they had to go to the street. Over 10,000 civilians have been murdered in Sarajevo. In Hag, several of Mladic’s & Karadzic’s minions has already been condemned for those crimes against humanity and war crimes. We always knew that Russian mercenaries were involved in war crimes on the side of Karadzic / Mladic in Bosnia. To have this Vladimir right next to me on a bunk, day and night – yes, I got to know him well. He has told in detail how he enjoys watching the people on the streets in the enclosed Sarajevo try to get safe from his bullets from the Snjper rifle. He laughed like an idiot while describing his murders. This was in the spring of 1995, just before the Miloseciv-Karadzic-Mladic gang in Srebrenica on the European continent, conducted the largest massacre since the Second World War, the Genocide of Srebrenica, a genocide inside a so called UN-Safety Zone.

u redu za vodu – waiting in the line for water, Sarajevo 1993, Edo Ramadanovic

u redu za vodu – waiting in the line for water, Sarajevo 1993, Edo Ramadanovic

Of course based on this personal experience in 1995 with Karadzic Mladic & Co and the UN-corruption that brought me into the dangerous 34 day hostage, I learned a lot about politics, geo-politics and this learning is still going on – because the corruption by UN and all involved governments exposed in this particular case still continues more than 20 years later. Thats why I am able to set the Genocide of Srebrenica in context with Putin & Co.

And so we have not spoken about Chechnya, the Crimea and all the Putin-crimes against Crimean tatars, Georgia, Afghanistan, the Eastern Ukraine, Syria, and especially Alepo.

#MH17 – to save our life and maybe our world, we must learn to imagine and see the monstrosity of #Putin, his acts and its impact

MH17

by the way –

I see no newspaper, no TV, no medium that after today’s publication of the MH17-investigation report rationally and logically draws this conclusion:

„Now is the first time we have heavy and extremely stable proof thanks to the gigantic work of an officiall international commission which exposes cristall clearly the existence and impact of Russian weapons (a BUK rocket) in eastern Ukraine, because there are 290 dead innocent passengers of a civil aircraft, shot down by Putins soldiers masked as “seperatists” in East Ukraine.”

What does that tell us?

A former President of the Swiss Parliament once told me: „Journalists are sheep-heads ….

He wanted to express I think, the majority of journalists are in the wake of the political mainstream.

The impact of Putins monstrosity and crime is also based widely on the inability for too many western people to imagine the dimensions of monstrosity and the impact of Putins acts.

We should learn first of all to stretch our ability to imagine Putins monstrosity – and we should self-reflect our cringingness towards our own political personal and their hot air and endless sensless mantras in our western capitals.

And I know there are journalists who work hard and are sufficiently resistant to politics and power, thinking and act independently.

They are great exceptions. I owe them a lot.

A British Foreign Secretary who excuses Russia’s invasion of Crimea?

Boris #Johnson, a #British Foreign Secretary who excuses #Russia’s invasion of Crimea?

Original by 14.07.16 | Halya Coynash for „Human Rigths in Ukraine“, the Information website of the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group

The new UK Prime Minister Theresa May doubtless had her reasons for giving leading Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson a cabinet post. Making him Foreign Secretary, however, defies any comprehension. It is especially difficult not to view this as an affront to all those currently facing persecution in Russian-occupied Crimea given his extraordinary attempt to blame Russia’s aggression against Ukraine on the EU. This was only one of a long list of distortions and lies told to encourage Britons to vote to leave the EU, but it is one which makes the new portfolio a matter of immense concern.

On May 9 this year, during questions and answers after a speech on Europe, it transpired that for Johnson it was not Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea and its military aggression in Eastern Ukraine that had caused “real trouble”, but the EU’s actions.

“If you want an example of EU foreign policymaking on the hoof and the EU’s pretensions to running a defence policy that have caused real trouble, then look at what has happened in Ukraine, ” he told reporters.

Johnson later reacted angrily to what he called ‘smears’, denying that he was an apologist for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He did not explain what he had meant, and what, in his view, the EU had done to stoke tensions in Ukraine.

It was hardly surprising, therefore, that his words were taken as justifying Russia’s actions. Johnson was, after all, simply repeating a position first taken by the head of the right-wing UKIP party Nigel Farage in a speech soon after Russia’s invasion of Crimea. In March 2014, Farage accused the EU of having “blood on its hands” for encouraging the turmoil in Ukraine which had supposedly led to Russia’s annexation of Crimea. This was recalled days later when he was reported as saying that “Vladimir Putin is the world leader I most admire”

Farage’s view of Putin and his slanted view of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine are shared by France’s far-right leader Marine Le Pen, and in fact most far-right parties in Europe (Hungary’s Jobbik, Bulgaria’s Ataka, Poland’s Falanga and many others). It is their members, including some individuals known for their neo-Nazi views like Luc Michel and Manuel Ochsenreiter, who are regularly invited to act as ‘observers’ rubberstamping Russia’s ‘Crimean referendum’ and ‘elections’ in Donbas.

It was undoubtedly Ukrainians’ support for closer ties to Europe and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s reneging on his pre-election promise to sign the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement that sparked Euromaidan and the end of the Yanukovych regime. Yanukovych had been heavily backed by Putin, and fled to Russia, together with the cronies directly implicated in the gunning down of peaceful protesters.

None of the reasons later given by Putin to justify the seizure of control by Russian troops of Crimea were substantiated. Violent deaths, disappearances and arrests of opponents have all come under Russian occupation. There was no evidence of any such excesses before Feb 27, 2014.

Johnson was likely parroting the line taken by Brexit lobbyists who clearly blamed the EU for somehow encroaching on ‘Russia’s patch’. The Brexit camp, we learned, “believe that the EU’s eastwards expansion into former Warsaw Pact countries, as well as its attempts to reach economic deals with former Soviet states like Ukraine and Georgia, has provoked Russia into adopting a more aggressive military stance in areas like Crimea.”

In a nutshell, they appeared to be saying, Russia was left no alternative but to invade and annex Ukrainian sovereign territory.

This is essentially the line taken by the Kremlin, and all its friends.

It is also, disturbingly, the line which at least in 2014 was taken by the now Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and appears to be held to this day by his close aide Seumas Milne. The bogeyman for them is NATO rather than the EU, though their perceived failure to firmly campaign against Brexit has been presented as the main reason for the leadership challenge currently underway.

Britain, together with Russia and the USA, were signatories to the 1994 Budapest Memorandum which guaranteed Ukraine protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity in exchange for giving up one of the largest nuclear arsenals in Europe. Neither the UK, however, nor other western countries reacted adequately to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The UK has, however, since taken a strong stand in supporting sanctions against Russia, imposed after Russia’s aggression in eastern Ukraine and the downing by Kremlin-backed militants of the Malaysian MH17 airliner on July 17, 2014.

Britain’s robust position was greatly appreciated, as was its acknowledgement of the grave human rights concerns in Crimea under Russian occupation.

What Johnson thinks appears to depend on the circumstances. Certainly, in an article from December 2015, while advocating fighting on the same side as Putin and Bashar Assad in Syria, he was at least critical of Putin (though later effusive in his praise of Putin’s bloody Syrian campaign which is believed by human rights NGOs, like Amnesty International, to have sometimes targeted civilians).

It is, however, the Johnson of the Leave campaign whom the UK’s new Prime Minister has seen the need to appoint to a high-ranking post in her government, and his position on Ukraine and Crimea are therefore seriously alarming.

Any blinkered presentation of Russia’s invasion of Crimea and the pseudo-referendum used to justify annexation flies in the face of the facts and begs the question of why Russia needed to bring in all its Eurosceptic friends from the far-right and far-left to act as ‘observers’.

The abductions and disappearances began after annexation and are continuing with the latest victim – Ervin Ibragimov – a prominent Crimean Tatar activist.

The Crimean Tatars, the main indigenous people of Crimea, faced persecution from the outset and this has now escalated with the criminalization of the Mejlis, or Crimean Tatar representative assembly. Three Crimean Tatars, including Akhtem Chiygoz, Deputy Head of the Mejlis, have been in detention for well over a year on surreal charges over the pre-annexation demonstration on Feb 26, 2014, which prevented Russia from carrying out a coup and seizure of power without deploying soldiers.

There are a number of Crimean opponents of annexation in Russian prisons, including renowned Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov. In Crimea, 14 Muslims, almost all Crimean Tatars, have so far been arrested and face huge sentences on totally fabricated charges. Other Ukrainians, including Mejlis leader Ilmi Umerov and journalist Mykola Semena are facing prison sentences for what Russia labels as “public calls to violate Russian territorial integrity”, otherwise known as recognizing Crimea as Ukrainian and wanting its return to Ukraine.

All of this, and much more, is the direct result not of the EU’s support for Ukraine, but of Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea.

If you have a header-picture typically for an account that should provoke the imagine of a pro Ukraine account – connected with – for a double twisted Putin troll typically – attributes described above (a gigantic amount of tweets – 154 Tsd. since 2 years – combined with the typically attribute of a series of numbers behind the name), you should investigate the activities of this account carefully. You will find earlier or later huge discrepancies.

But you act the clear opposite way when you are paring with Putin-allies. So, in my view, what you officially declare, is one thing. But I measure you on how you act.

In a next step, take a micro chronometer and check the determining algorithm for this 24h / per 7 days a week machine-publication of retweets.

If you would investigate the language of this person, who is running this „machine-accounts“ and is writing something like an answer on my question – linguistically you find more discrepancies – he claims he is halve English halve Scotch, but his language is not doubt not from a person who is from Grate Britain.

I blocked this double twisted Putin-Troll: >>https://twitter.com/mark24823687<<

Final conclusion, based on the analysis of the following Twitter-account:

https://twitter.com/mark24823687

Russian defense ministry, conducting und control all this „Putin-Troll-Infrastructure“ (investigated and described by many reports) is now not only targeting the unity of the EU, or of Grate Britain. The double twisted strategy against the courageous leader and first Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, investigated, documented and described at the example of the Putin-Troll-Twitter-Account https://twitter.com/mark24823687 makes clear:

On the top-target list of the Russian defense ministry and its double twisted Putin-Trolls is also the unity of Scotland and its most popular an most powerful representative and leader, Nicola Sturgeon.

The representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people are calling upon the EU countries to strengthen the sanctions against Russia by, in part, considering a temporary embargo on Russian oil.

The announcement was made by Refat Chubarov, the Chairmain of the Mejlis, on «Hromadske» TV channel.

“Given the increased repressions of the Crimean Tatars, our goal is to convince the international community to strengthen the sanctions against Russia,” he said.

“We call to disconnect the SWIFT banking system. I also spoke about the European countries considering the possibility of imposing an embargo, at least temporarily, on energy carriers from Russia, oil in particular,” said Chubarov.

The European Parliament intends to conduct debates and adopt a resolution on the violation of the human rights in Crimea during its plenary session on May 12, 2016. The EU will revise its sanctions regime against Russia in June of 2016.

Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, Singer, Songwriter, Artist, Activist, Ukraine

hold me – the song from Svyatoslav Vakarchuk – to say thank you to all friends of #Ukraine

Since more than two years numerous friends of Ukraine around the world fight for those values that were at stake in the battle on the euromaidan in Kyiv in the winter 2013/2014 – also we do, a small NGO, named swissukraine.org .

It is high time to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those upright supporters of the Ukrainian people, who struggle for human rights, for democracy and freedom with all their power: Thank you all for your important support.

Each contribution is a very important part of a global network, to support the people of Ukraine, who for years now are being exposed to a brutal and bloody hybrid war of Putin’s Russia, a war that daily injures people and unfortunately Ukrainian people are often daily killed.

Nearly two million people have been displaced. Many thousands of people have been injured and traumatised and will be invalids for the rest of their lives – many thousands of people have been killed, as civilians or as soldiers, in an effort to keep Putin hordes at bay.

I personally and many of my friends, support Ukraine and its people, because we are convinced this is not only about a country, on the border with Russia, but it is about the foundations of our modern civilization – nothing less is in acute danger.

All people that withhold the continued terror of Putin and his ingenious systems, until the edge of exhaustion – the warmest thanks for everything you do for Ukraine and its people –

it is often bloody hard – targeted decomposition starting from Putin’s Russia, the non-stop and hybrid terror gnaws at us all.

In the upcoming very difficult time, let us work together, even smarter, more intense, more creative in collaboration, for the people of Ukraine and for our own good.

This song of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, the Ukrainian singer, songwriter, artist, activists and scientist – it was his song that has triggered me to write you this, and it shall be his song with which I want to thank you.

And Svyatoslav Vakarchuk – if I may wish something – I wish the next Ukrainian president would be Svyatoslav Vakarchuk: Hope and strength grows in the hearts of my friends, my friends here in the West and in Ukraine, thanks to people like him. I know you will tell me I am not in the position to wish for something and meddle into this field. I know they will say, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk is not a politician, perhaps he says that himself. But Vaclav Havel for example, when he became president, was a writer and still became the president the people wished for. Our friends in Ukraine will decide.

Simon Gerber

Many thanks to my colleague in Kyiv, Oksana Pooley for translation the song of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk into English!

When the day comes
And the war ends,
I lost myself there
And saw into my depth
Hold me, hold me, hold me
So tenderly, and don’t let go
Hold me, hold me, hold me
Let your spring come
And so my soul
Lays down its weapons
Can it want so bad
To feel the warm tears?
Chorus:
Hold me, hold me, hold me
So tenderly, and don’t let go
Hold me, hold me, hold me
Let your spring come
Hold me, hold me, hold me
So tenderly, and don’t let go
Hold me, hold me, hold me
Let your spring come

DAILY REPORT #OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to #Ukraine, based on information received as of 19:30hrs, 1 April 2016

The SMM continued to observe a high number of ceasefire violations in Donetsk region. In Luhansk region the SMM recorded a higher number of ceasefire violations than the previous day. The SMM followed up on reports of shelling. It facilitated the safe passage of civilians between Ukrainian Armed Forces and “LPR” checkpoints in Luhansk region. The Mission encountered freedom of movement restrictions in areas not controlled by the Government, including in border areas.*

The number of ceasefire violations observed in Donetsk region remained at a high level. Positioned in “DPR”-controlled Donetsk city between 19:40hrs on 31 March and 06:30hrs on 1 April, the SMM heard 307 undetermined explosions and 31 bursts of small-arms fire 3-10km north, north-west and east of its position. Whilst at the Donetsk central railway station (“DPR”-controlled, 6km north-west of Donetsk), between 09:26 and 14:25hrs the SMM heard 122 undetermined explosions, 20 outgoing rounds of multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), two airbursts, five bursts of heavy-machine-gun and three single shots of small-arms fire at locations ranging from 3-8km north, north-north-west, north-west and west of its position.

While in government-controlled Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk) between 19:30 and 21:30hrs on 31 March, the SMM heard 45 impacts of mortar rounds (120mm) and 101 bursts of heavy-machine-gun fire in areas 3-5km south-west of its position. During the evening hours of 31 March, while in “DPR”-controlled Horlivka (39km north-east of Donetsk), the SMM heard 63 explosions assessed as caused by artillery (152mm) and mortar rounds (82 and 120mm) and at least 37 bursts of heavy-machine-gun fire and 12 outgoing rounds of automatic grenade launcher, 6-12km north and west-north-west of its position.

Whilst in “DPR”-controlled Yasynuvata (16km north-east of Donetsk) between 10:45 and 15:35hrs, the SMM heard 100 undetermined explosions, 36 single shots of small-arms and 42 bursts of heavy-machine-gun fire 1-5km north-west, west and south-west of its position. While in government-controlled Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk) the SMM heard 10 impacts of mortar rounds (82 and 120mm), two impacts of artillery rounds (122mm), 16 impacts of automatic-grenade-launcher rounds, 13 impacts of recoilless-gun (SPG-9) rounds, and eight impacts of infantry fighting vehicle (IFV; BMP-1), along with bursts of heavy-machine-gun and small-arms fire in areas 2-5.5km north-east, east, south-east and south of its position.

In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded an increased number of ceasefire violations compared to the previous day. While in “LPR”-controlled Pervomaisk (57km west of Luhansk), during the evening of 31 March, within 25 minutes, the SMM heard 43 explosions (assessed as caused by artillery) 8km west of its position. Whilst in “LPR”-controlled Stakhanov (50km west of Luhansk) between 17:25 and 18:45hrs, the SMM heard at least 200 explosions (caused by automatic-grenade-launcher rounds, including 20 assessed as caused by 120mm mortar) and automatic-grenade-launcher rounds) along with bursts of anti-aircraft gun (ZU-23) all 10km south-west of its position.

The SMM followed up on reports of shelling from media sources and Russian Federation Armed Forces representatives at the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC). Directed and escorted by Russian Federation Armed Forces JCCC representatives in “DPR”-controlled Horlivka (39km north-east of Donetsk), and “DPR” members it visited alleged sites of shelling. Accompanied also by media, they showed to the SMM a number of craters in two locations two in Horlivka and one location in Zaitseve (50km north-east of Donetsk).

In the eastern part of “DPR”-controlled Holmivskyi (49km north-east of Donetsk), on the outskirts of “DPR” controlled Horlivka, the SMM analysed six fresh craters, assessed as caused by 152mm artillery rounds fired from east and north-east. On one of the buildings the SMM observed the impact of a round fired from a westerly direction. The SMM observed a water purification tank damaged by shrapnel and one crater (assessed as 120mm mortar round) filled with the liquid pouring from the holes in the tank. Close to another five-storey building, the SMM observed a crater assessed as caused by a 120mm mortar round fired from the west. According to residents the shelling had occurred at 06:00hrs on 31 March. On Varlamova Street in Horlivka the SMM observed that a wall of a one-storey building was destroyed by what the SMM assessed as the impact of a 120mm mortar round fired from north-north-east. The SMM observed another building where the shrapnel had damaged the windows and the ceiling of an apartment and was informed by the injured residents (one man, and two women aged between 21 and 40years) that the shelling had occurred at 07:02hrs on 31 March. The man had suffered an injury to the right eye, the woman to the knee (both were treated but not hospitalized) and the 21 year old daughter had sustained light injuries.

In “DPR”-controlled areas of Zaitseve, near a building used by the “village council”, the SMM was shown six fresh craters assessed as caused by 82mm mortar rounds. Another three craters, also assessed as caused by 82mm mortar rounds, were observed in the yard and at the entrance of a severely damaged private house. All nine craters were assessed as caused by rounds fired from the west.

In “DPR”-controlled Kominternove (23km east-north-east of Mariupol) residents showed the SMM seven craters spread within a 100m radius area and told they were caused by shelling that occurred on the night between 31 March and 1 April. The SMM assessed that the craters were caused by mortar rounds (six of them by 120mm and one by 82mm) fired from a south-westerly direction. The SMM observed that another two 120mm mortar rounds had impacted near a house and damaged the roof and windows. The resident, one elderly woman had not sustained injuries. The SMM observed that power and gas pipelines were also damaged.

In relation to the implementation of the Addendum to the Package of Measures, the SMM revisited a Ukrainian Armed Forces permanent storage site whose location corresponds with the withdrawal lines and noted that three towed howitzers (D-44, 152mm) were missing, as has been the case since 29 January.

Aerial surveillance imagery available to the SMM revealed the presence of seven tanks, in violation of the withdrawal lines and outside storage sites, in Donetsk city.

The SMM continued to monitor the withdrawal of heavy weapons foreseen in the Minsk Package of Measures. The SMM has yet to receive the full information requested in the 16 October 2015 notification. The SMM revisited locations known to the SMM as heavy weapons holding areas, even though they do not comply with the specific criteria set out for permanent storage sites in the 16 October 2015 notification.

In government-controlled areas beyond respective withdrawal lines, the SMM revisited such locations and observed: 18 towed howitzers (2A65 Msta-B, 152mm), 12 MLRS (BM-21 Grad, 122mm) and 11 self-propelled howitzers (2S3 Akatsiya, 152mm). Six self-propelled howitzers (2S1 Gvozdika, 122mm) were noted as missing.

In “DPR”-controlled areas beyond respective withdrawal lines, the SMM revisited such locations and observed: seven self-propelled howitzers (2S1 Gvozdika, 122mm), two towed anti-tank guns (MT-12 Rapira, 100mm), eight towed howitzers (six 2A65 Msta-B, 152mm; two D-30, 122mm). One self-propelled howitzer (2S1 Gvozdika, 122mm) was observed missing.

In violation of the respective withdrawal lines, the SMM observed one surface-to-air missile system (9K35 Strela-10, 120mm) near “DPR”-controlled Komuna (57km north-east of Donetsk).

The SMM observed the presence of other hardware within the security zone: three armoured combat vehicles (BRDM-2) near government-controlled Pavlopil (26km north-east of Mariupol); seven armoured personnel carriers (APC; MTLB) stationary north of government-controlled Vilkhove (22km north-east of Luhansk); six APCs (BTR-60) near government-controlled Petrivka (27km north of Luhansk); 16 IFVs (BMP-2) near government-controlled Hirske (62km north-west of Luhansk); one anti-aircraft gun (ZU-23) towed by a civilian vehicle near „LPR“-controlled Chornukhyne (70km south-west of Luhansk). Aerial surveillance imagery available to the SMM revealed the presence of 39 armoured vehicles in “DPR”-controlled Donetsk city and 15 armoured vehicles near government-controlled Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk).

The SMM continued to observe the presence of mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). At a “DPR”-controlled checkpoint in Staromarivka (46km north-north-east of Mariupol), the SMM saw three pieces of unexploded ordnance (from 120mm mortar projectiles), stuck in the middle of the road.

The SMM continued to monitor the situation affecting civilians at checkpoints in Zolote (60km north-west of Luhansk) (see SMM Daily Report 1 April). Some of the civilians who had been stranded on the road between the checkpoints and were returned the previous day to government-controlled areas were transported to Stanytsia Luhanska official crossing checkpoint. The SMM liaised with both sides, facilitated dialogue and monitored the safe passage through the contact line, using a local route, from government-controlled areas towards “LPR” controlled area of Zolote of another 208 people who had been stranded the previous night between the checkpoints.

The SMM endeavoured to visit border areas not controlled by the Government. Upon two attempts to reach two border areas, armed “LPR” members at the Chervonopartyzansk border crossing point (67km southeast of Luhansk) and Izvaryne border crossing point (53km south-east of Luhansk) prevented the SMM from accessing and monitoring in both areas and told the SMM to leave.

The SMM continued to monitor the situation in Kherson, Odessa, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Chernivtsi and Kyiv.

*Restrictions to SMM’s freedom of movement or other impediments to the fulfilment of its mandate

The SMM’s monitoring is restrained by security hazards and threats, including risks posed by mines and unexploded ordnance, and by restrictions of its freedom of movement and other impediments – which vary from day to day. The SMM’s mandate provides for safe and secure access throughout Ukraine. All signatories of the Package of Measures have agreed on the need for this safe and secure access, that restriction of the SMM’s freedom of movement constitutes a violation, and on the need for rapid response to these violations.

Denial of access:

 • Armed men refused the SMM to enter a military-type compound in “DPR”-controlled Svobodne (49km north-east of Mariupol) and stated the SMM should request permission from the “DPR” “command” located in Komsomolske (42km south-east of Donetsk). The JCCC was informed.
 • Two armed men in military-type clothing denied the SMM entry to a residential building near “DPR” controlled Kulykove (30km north-east of Mariupol) to verify the presence of heavy weapons within the security zone. The SMM observed a military-type truck stationary in the garden. The JCCC was informed.
 • At the border crossing point in “LPR”-controlled Izvaryne (53km south-east of Luhansk), armed men insisted on seeing the SMM patrol plan. The SMM refused to show and was told to leave the area. The JCCC was informed.
 • At the border crossing point in “LPR”-controlled Chervonopartyzansk (64km south-east of Luhansk) an “LPR” member from “komendatura” in Sverdlovsk (61km south-east of Luhansk) told the SMM to leave, citing an order from “border guard headquarters”. Even though it informed the JCCC calling for its intervention, the SMM was escorted out of the area up to the entrance of “LPR”-controlled Sverdlovsk.

Delay:

 • At a “DPR” checkpoint on highway H-15 near Oleksandrivka (19km south-west of Donetsk), armed men requested to see monitor’s national passports citing an order from “minister of security” to check all passports of people entering the “DPR”-controlled area, including OSCE and UN. The SMM refused, contacted the JCCC and was allowed passage after 30 minutes.
 • At a “DPR” checkpoint in Olenivka (“DPR”-controlled, 23km south-west of Donetsk), armed men requested to see monitor’s national passports and the OSCE vehicles registration documents. A “DPR” member recorded the data from the requested documents and the SMM was allowed to pass after 30 minutes.
 • At a temporary checkpoint in “LPR”-controlled Sverdlovsk (61km south-east of Luhansk) an “LPR” member of the local “komendatura” requested to see the patrol plan. The SMM refused but was allowed to proceed after three minutes delay.

Lockheed L-100-30 Hercules

free airspace of #Europe and #Switzerland for #Putins weapons towards #Africa ?

Report from Simon Gerber, March 10. 2016

The sound of a not identifiable Lockheed L-100-30 Hercules today forced me to have a look to the sky over Switzerland above my house:

Flight radar showed it only like this:

identifiable

In reality, the type of this transport air plane looks like this:

Lockheed L-30 Hercules

Lockheed L-30 Hercules

Normally, if an airplane is not unter military secrets flying, you can identify the country of the owner, the starting point and the destination – also the owner is declared.

Here only the typ of the airplane was visible, nothing else, which was congruent with what my ears was able to hear above me.

From that, you can conclude, it must be a military transport, and the operator does not like to give any more information about from where it is, or what it is, or what the destiny is:

For me reason enough to fellow this plane.

The first interesting thing: This mysterious military transport across over whole Europe, started in Moscow, was on its way to south-west.

After 17.26 flight radar shows clear, on the west coast of Africa, in the air space of Morocco the plain was already in descending flight, but then, the transponder was switched off.

Wie can conclude so far:

It was no doubt a military transport from Moscow to the west coast of the African continent: We can’t say exactly where its destiny was – could be Morocco, could easy be one of its neighbor-country – sure is: There is many thing to hide on this flight.

Question:

 1. Is it functionally, for Europe, for Switzerland, to hold their airspace open for a dictatorship like Putins Russia, who is violating all basic laws of our civilization? Is it really smart, to hold your airspace open so Putins Russia can spread its deadly weapons further into the continent Africa? Is it really smart, to do so, in the current dramatically geopolitical circumstances with a never before seen crisis with people bombed out of their houses and countries?
 2. Has the authorities of Europe, of Switzerland any idea, what type of weapons Russia today transported with this hided airplane through their airspace?

Simon Gerber, March 10. 2016

Look the protocol of the described flight:

Time: 14.28

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Time: 14.51

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Time: 15.01

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Time: 17.26

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Russian Weapon on its way to Africa in European Airspace?

Short time after 17.26, it switched off its transponders!

MH17 – Potential Suspects and Witnesses from the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade

February 23, 2016

By Bellingcat

if the Belingcat internet site would be in function because of any attacks –

here a pdf Version of the BellingCat Report, stored on our site:
53rd- Belingcat-report-public2
The report can be downloaded here stock_save_pdfThis report, MH17: Potential Suspects and Witnesses from the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, presents information regarding the Russian brigade that we believe provided, and possibly operated, the Buk-M1 missile launcher that downed Malaysian Airlines Flight 17. In this post, we will summarize the role of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade and “Buk 3×2” in the downing of MH17 before providing a summary of the report. At the bottom of this post, an index is provided of Bellingcat’s previously published major research projects on the MH17 disaster.

Introduction

From June 23 to 25, 2014, Russia’s 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade transported several Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile systems to areas near the Russia-Ukraine border. Bellingcat has extensively covered this convoy of military vehicles over the past year and a half, including numerous reports on the 53rd Brigade’s most notable piece of cargo: Buk 3×2, the missile launcher that we believe downed MH17. You can trace the 53rd Brigade’s journey from its base in Kursk, Russia to near the Russia-Ukraine border on Storymap, through which you can watch the videos and photographs in which the convoy, including Buk 3×2, are captured.

There is no direct evidence indicating if it was Russian or separatist soldiers who operated Buk 3×2 when it was in Ukraine. However, considering the complexity of the Buk-M1 system, it is most likely that the Russian military did not transfer a Buk missile launcher to separatist commanders without some guidance or a Russian crew. In the likely case that the Buk 3×2 did come with a Russian crew, it is almost certain that they were from the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, which was deployed at the border throughout the summer of 2014.

Bellingcat has published numerous reports indicating our confidence that the Buk-M1 system that most likely downed MH17 was the Russian Buk 3×2. In the six available photographs and videos of the Buk-M1 missile launcher in Donetsk, Zuhres, Luhansk, Torez, and Snizhne on the day of and after the airliner’s downing, numerous features on the Buk match uncommon features found on Buk 3×2. Many of these features can be seen in this comparison between Buk 3×2 (in Russia, June 2014) and the Buk seen in Donetsk, Ukraine on the day of the tragedy:

There are numerous other features on Buk 3×2 that match the Buk seen in eastern Ukraine on July 17 and 18, 2014 that indicate that it is definitely a Russian Buk, and more specifically 3×2. These features include:

 • H-2200 mark on the left side (a load-bearing code used in railways, and extremely common on Russian equipment, with only a few examples of it seen on Ukrainian tanks and none on Buks)
 • Cross hair symbol (gravity mark) next to H-2200, meant for stabilizing while loading onto railways
 • Visible unit designation, with a likely “3”, an obscured middle digit, and fairly clear “2”
 • Distinct marks on hull and side-skirt
 • Side-skirt damage pattern
 • Distinct white mark on right side-skirt, visible in July 18 Luhansk video and a June 23 video in Alexeyevka, Russia (see comparison here). The same white mark is visible on the other side skirt below the H-2200 mark, as seen in the above comparison video.

Summary of Report

The report contains five sections, each covering a different aspect of the 53rd Brigade and its activities in the summer of 2014.

The first section, “The 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade,” describes the role of the brigade within the Russian military and its structure, including the unit designations of Buk-M1 systems within the brigade.

The second section, “Mobilization of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade,” provides a detailed account of the deployment of the brigade throughout the summer of 2014. By studying the makeup of the convoy that transported Buk-M1 systems from Kursk, Russia to near the Russia-Ukraine border on June 23-25, we have established that the 2nd Battalion of the 53rd Brigade was responsible for the transport of Buk 3×2. The missile launcher designated Buk 3×2 replaced the 2nd Battalion’s missile launcher numbered 222, thus indicating that the officers and soldiers normally responsible for Buk 222 were the most likely candidates to operate its replacement, Buk 3×2. This second section also details another convoy in which equipment from the 1st Battalion was transported in the days following the MH17 disaster.

The third section, “Soldiers of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade,” details the soldiers within the 53rd Brigade and the information provided by their public postings on social media. The soldiers of the 2nd Battalion provided a wealth of information, including photographs and written notes, describing their time on the Russia-Ukraine border in June and July, 2014. More extensive details are provided regarding the soldiers who were normally responsible for the Buk missile launcher numbered 222, which was replaced by Buk 3×2, which we believe downed MH17. Additional details are provided on soldiers of the 1st and 3rd Battalions in order to demonstrate that they likely had no involvement or knowledge regarding the transfer or operation of Buk 3×2 in Ukraine. The identities of all of these soldiers have been anonymized in this public version of the report, with their names changed and faces blurred, though an uncensored version with their true identities has been provided to the Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

The fourth section, “Cadets at the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade,” describes a summer cadet training program at the Kursk base of the 53rd Brigade. Information provided by these cadets gives us additional understanding of the structure and operations of the brigade, in addition to ruling out numerous officers from any involvement with the MH17 disaster. The identities of all cadets have been anonymized, like with the soldiers in the previous section.

The final and most important section, “Commanders of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade,” provides extensive information regarding the leadership structure of the brigade and battalion that provided and possibly operated the likely murder weapon in the downing of MH17. We provide partially anonymized information regarding 14 officers of the 2nd Battalion of the 53rd Brigade, including the commanders of the Buk unit vehicles within the battalion. Sergey Borisovich Muchkaev, the commander of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, is closely detailed, along with his superiors, including Aleksey Zolotov of the Air Defense of the 20th Guards Army and Andrey Kokhanov of the Air Defense of the Western Military District. Ultimately, responsibility for the downing of MH17 from a weapon provided and possibly operated by the Russian military lies with the Ministry of Defense and the Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, President Vladimir Putin.

The first person to call for mass protests in Kyiv was journalist Mustafa Nayyem, who is Afghan by origin. The first people that died from snipers’ bullets were Armenian Sergey Nagoya and Belorussian Mikhail Zhyznesvskiy. Among other protesters killed later, there was one more Armenian, one more Belorussian, two Georgians and one Russian citizen. Together with other victims, they are called the „Nebesna Sotnya“ (Heaven’s Hundred). This list includes a doctor, a rock singer, a theatre director, an architect, an IT specialist, an athlete, and several artists and businessmen. In Russian propaganda, they were stripped of their identities and reduced to a single category: Ukrainian nationalists or, worse, fascists.

Quote by Yaroslav Hrytsak, REVOLUTION OF DIGNITY

During the winter of 2013–2014, Kyiv get the touch of the Revolution, an it was not gentle. The city’s heart became home to barricades, watchmen, armed units, gawkers and fools, carnival-style shows and sermons, heaps of cobblestones on icy streets and smoke from burning tires. Here, Ukraine’s history was made–it could be felt, inhaled, and tasted.

This book is to understand what happened to Ukraine in 2014, and to remember it.

Quote by: Volodymyr Kadygrob, Kateryna Taylor, Dana Pavlychko, Gleb Gusev

#EUROMAIDAN – History in the Making is dedicated to Ukraine’s 2013-2014 Revolution of Dignity and Democracy. The movement’s first sparks were ignited in Kyiv’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square), which stands in the heart of the capital and is the site of previous mass mobilizations for democratic reform. It has always been a place for gathering and debate, but the Revolution has brought a whole new meaning to the „Maidan.“ It is much more than a place. It is a movement that has transformed civil society and demands political accountability. The Revolution’s mass protests forced Ukraine’s corrupt President to flee and ushered opposition leaders into power. Through vivid photographs and accompanying text, this book documents and explains Euromaidan-as a historical event, as a set of shared values, and as a form of self-organisation and creative expression. This book assembles the most compelling photographs taken by Ukrainian photographers at the Maidan from November of 2013 to February of 2014. Two articles open the book: historian Yaroslav Hrytsak describes its sources, causes, and driving forces; philosopher Taras Liutyi explores the Maidan as a collection of myths and. A chronology of events, a map of the Maidan, and a list of those who were killed during the protests accompany the images. Compelling and evocative, this hardback album studies the archives of over 600 photographers, both professional and amateur. Among them are Oleksandr Burlaka, Roman Pashkovskyi, Serhiy Morhunov, Andriy Horb, Oleksandr Piliuhin, Oleksandr Stryzhelchyk, Oleksandr Kuzmin, Dmytro Larin, Oleksandr Kurmaz, Roman Pilipey, Oleksandr Chekmeniov,Oleksiy Furman, Ivan Bohdan, Anatolyi Boiko, Kostiantyn Chernichkin, Hanna Hrabarska, Irakliy Dzneladze, Serhiy Kharchenko, Vladyslav Musienko, Evheniy Malolietka, Maksym Levin and many others.

Many thanks to Mario Galgano, Radio Vatican, for the hint

Thanks for Translation to Marc Lindt!

The society Swiss-Ukraine calls for all decent and reasonable people to join the boycott against the following two travel agencies.

With their offers for holidays on the Crimea peninsula (occupied by Russia) they break the EU sanctions regime against Russia.

Putin’s Russia has occupied Crimea breaking all international laws and hereby putting in question fundamentally the basic rules of our civilization. On the Crimea peninsula the Russian occupiers constantly violate human rights. Let’s just think about the brutal force against the Crimean Tatar population.

Reasons enough to boycott these two agencies!

Who continues to do business with the occupiers, stabs the EU for its Russia policies in the back, and this solely on the basis of pure greed.

We also call on the EU authorities to put in place the necessary measures to penalize and prevent such activities.

http://www.booking.com breaks 1282 fold the EU sanctions, which have been put in place to prevent business with companies on the Russian occupied Crimea peninsula.

When OSCE stops its silence about complete dead of Minsk ll?

Latest from #OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (#SMM) to #Ukraine 18 August 2015

http://www.osce.org/ukraine-smm/178011

The SMM monitored the implementation of the “Package of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements”. Its monitoring was restricted by the parties and security considerations*. Ceasefire violations were recorded in numerous locations. The SMM verified a number of civilian casualties on both sides of the contact line.

*Restrictions on SMM monitoring, access and freedom of movement:

The SMM is restrained in fulfilling its monitoring functions by restrictions imposed by the parties and security considerations, including mine threats, and damaged infrastructure. The security situation in Donbas is fluid and unpredictable and the ceasefire does not hold everywhere. Self-imposed restrictions on movement into high-risk areas have impinged on SMM patrolling activities, particularly in areas not controlled by the government. Members of the “LPR” continue to prevent the SMM from monitoring most areas close to the border with the Russian Federation.

Denied access:

 • In Donetsk city, “DPR” “police” – explaining that they had received orders to do so – insisted that the SMM return to its residence.
 • On 16 August in government-controlled Zolote (60km north-west of Luhansk), a Ukrainian Armed Forces commander refused to allow the SMM to proceed, initially citing security concerns and later giving the fact that Ukrainian Armed Forces positions were ahead as a reason. The following day, at the same location, the commander again denied passage to the SMM, saying he could not guarantee the SMM’s security.

“Let me remind you that Russia is one of the world’s biggest nuclear powers,” Putin told Russian youth last summer. “These are not just words — this is the reality. What’s more, we are strengthening our nuclear deterrent capability and developing our armed forces.”

“The Russians want to sow discord within NATO, where the nuclear issue is extremely divisive,” argued Pauli Järvenpää, a former Finnish ambassador who is now a senior fellow at the International Centre for Defense and Security in Tallinn. “And they want to signal how important some issues are for them.”

Thomas D. Grant : Aggression against Ukraine: Territory, Responsibility, and International Law

DESCRIPTION

Aggression against Ukraine marks a stunning shift. Ever since 1945 it had been understood that the borders of States must not be the object of forcible change by other States. However, Russia has now revived long-buried historical claims—and prosecutes them by dint of arms. The annexation of Crimea in March 2014 and the subsequent armed incursions in eastern Ukraine under color of separatist movements in Donetsk and Luhansk challenge not just one State’s territorial integrity, but jeopardize the general settlement on which international law for almost three generations has rested. This is the settlement which enabled human rights and modern institutions of international law to flourish. Russia’s domestic rejection of human rights and its new geopolitics of territorial seizure in this light should be seen not in isolation but as connected developments—and as a challenge to international law and global public order at large.

Alle 298 Personen an Bord kamen ums Leben.

„Verletzungen VON BEIDEN SEITEN“ reden….

Nadya Savchenko, Russia threatens 25 years prison

Nadya Savchenko: Public-opinion poll – What kind of countermeasure do you recommend?

Last days we read reports, Ukrainian hostage of Putins-Russia Nadya Savchenko could be „sentenced“ for 25 years. Nadya Savchenko was kidnapped on Ukrainian soil by Putins-Russian-bandits more than one year ago. They transported her against her will to Moscow (alone in this context, how Russian leaders can try to explain, they are not involved in the ongoing war against Ukraine in eastern Ukraine?) where she is since then hold as Putins personal hostage.

Thats for us, the Organisation Swiss-Ukraine, reason enough to call openly: We need new countermeasures against such human-rights violation driven by Putins-Russia – time for appeals and time for talks is over now. So thats why we urge you, to participate in our public-opinion poll.

First aim of our poll is: Installing powerful countermeasure against human rights violation Putins-Russia. Russia must free all Ukrainian hostages now!

 • Запросити лідерів Ісламської Держави до парламенту в Берні і привітати їх оплесками;
 • За швейцарською традицію якнайшвидше направити делегацію швейцарських парламентаріїв у столицю ІД, з метою сприяння демократичному порозумінню і миру в усьому світі;

OSCE 24th Annual Session, Helsinki, 2015

Swiss delegation undermines the sanctions and cowardly refrains from condemning the Russian led war in Ukraine.

As already reported, the delegation of Swiss Members of Parliament (Mitgliederliste der parlamentarischen OSZE-Versammlung) refused to condemn Russia as aggressor against Ukraine at the occasion of a resolution during the assembly of the OSCE in Helsinki. The resolution was supported by a vast majority of the OSCE members, nevertheless the Swiss delegation opted to declare abstention.

According to one female MP (who was part of the voting), the president of the delegation, member of the National Council Andreas Aebi (SVP (Swiss people’s Party), a Major of the Swiss Army) has given the clear directive for the Swiss delegation to collectively declare abstention. This fact was confirmed today to the Society Swiss Ukraine.

How do the members of the Swiss MP delegation to the OSCE justify their vote?

The same sources declare unanimously that the reason given was the fact that some delegates from Russia were refused a visa by the host, Finland, to enter the country. The abstention was hence not against the content of the resolution (against the Russian aggression), as the delegates argued, but due to the fact that “the implicit refusal of dialogue with the Russian (delegation) doesn’t conform to the Swiss understanding of democracy”.

The society Swiss Ukraine would like to make the following statement: The argumentation is duly naïve in the light of Russia’s crimes against Ukraine and it seems rather obvious, that the representatives of the two political parties SVP and CVP (Christian People’s Party) used the opportunity to herewith play against the US and the EU, who meanwhile take more and more a clear stance in the case of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. For such opportunistic politicians it seems to be rather a perfect opportunity to play their game against the US and the EU by hiding behind so called democratic principles.

Following this strange logic of stressing the “dialogue” even with an aggressor like Russia and hereby undermining the sanctions regime, the same Swiss MP’s should rather urgently pack their bags and travel the regions of the IS and seek the dialogue with them.

Russia is seen as a bigger threat than even the murderous IS criminals

(look for example: Russia is top threat to national security, US general says)

Being consequent, the Swiss politicians should maybe:

 • Invite members of IS to Berne and applaud them (as happened with the Russian delegation)
 • According to Swiss tradition send a delegation of Swiss MP’s to the IS ruled cities to further their understanding of world peace
 • Enter into discussions with IS representatives, as their isolation could lead to more aggression (if one follows the same sick argumentation as used with Russia)
 • Rest ist WIederholung von oben…

Conclusion

This incident isn’t consistent with the official Swiss policy towards the Russian aggression as stated by the Foreign Minister and other Swiss officials previously and looks like the group was high jacked by the Russian-friendly lobby (OSCE delegate and member of the Council of State Lombardi is a well-known friend of Russia) hereby jeopardizing the Swiss reputation in the world. How should Switzerland in the future be a candidate for “diplomatic services” on behalf of the US or other western countries, if Switzerland opts to separate itself so prominently from the western position?

Open letter to the Swiss Parliament

Dear member of the Swiss Parliament!

We are representatives of Ukrainian diaspora organisations as well as Swiss citizens, who are very concerned about the pain and death the Russian aggression against Ukraine causes. We appreciate the stand and vote of Switzerland at the UN General assembly on March 27th, 2014, when there was the debate about the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We are also grateful that Switzerland is currently engaged economically as well as with humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

But we are disappointed that some – in our view – irresponsible actions of Swiss politicians suggest, that there is ambivalence in the official Swiss policy towards Russia, when it comes to taking a firm stand to convince Russia to honour international law as well as pull back its irregular troops and weapons from Ukraine and give back illegally seized territory.

On June 18th we were very surprised to learn about the visit of a delegation of the Russian Federation Council to the Swiss Parliament. The leading members of the delegation – the Vice-speaker, Juri Worobew, and the Head of international relations, Wladimir Dschabarow – had been put on the EU sanctions list (hereby facing a travel ban to the Schengen countries) because of their active role in the organisation and support of the Russian war against Ukraine. The price Ukraine has so far paid for the Russian aggression is more than 6000 dead Ukrainians, 12’000 wounded and more than a million refugees (internally displaced persons).

With the official reception of these two men in the – applauding – Swiss Parliament, Putin’s propaganda department was allowed to demonstrate the perceived international acceptance of Russia and hereby run a convincing story to the Russian audience, that only the US and a handful of its lackeys oppose Russia, while some reputable countries like Switzerland welcome Russia and have no problem with Russia’s ambitions and its policies. This gives Putin and his generals a solid base for continuing their aggression against Ukraine, but also to restart the race of arms as well as set up more nuclear weapons directed to Europe – an imminent threat also for Switzerland.

Many Swiss can well remember the times, when the world lived under the constant threat of a nuclear war. The many shelters in Swiss houses tell a vivid story of these times. Ukraine has substantially contributed to international peace and stability when foregoing the world’s third largest nuclear weapons arsenal by signing the Budapest Memorandum in 1994. Russia, the UK, the US, France and China promised in return to warrant Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity – a warranty that has become a farce in the light of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The more important it is today that Ukraine gets support from Switzerland and other countries with a will to help, in order to re-establish as fast as possible peaceful life in all illegally seized territories and to force the aggressor to withdraw from Ukrainian territory. We regret that there are Swiss politicians arguing for equidistance in the light of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Experience from history should have taught the world and in particular Europe to which catastrophic situations it can lead, when one tries to appease and hereby tolerate an aggressor with criminal ambitions.

We call on the Swiss Parliament – rather than playing into the hands of Putin’s propaganda – to seek a closer cooperation with the Ukrainian Parliament.

There is a parliamentarian group “Swiss Ukraine”; it is hard to understand given the situation, but it seems dormant since 2012. Isn’t it highly questionable that Member of Parliament Filippo Lombardi, who invited the Russian delegation despite all sanctions, is co-president of that abovementioned parliamentarian group? It would be desirable, that under the circumstances this group should be restructured to intensify the cooperation with Ukraine.

As information is key, there is a good example how to get more in depth knowledge – however from abroad: On June 10th, a part of the German Parliament (CDU/CSU) organised a congress “Russia and Ukraine – historical background of a European conflict”. In the press there were many comments praising this congress as a good base for a better understanding of the complex situation in Ukraine. We would welcome such an effort by the Swiss Parliament (or parts thereof) and offer – if required – our help for setting it up.

We appeal to the Swiss Parliament and all Swiss politicians to help Ukraine and to force Russia to respect international law and in particular the sovereignty of the young Ukrainian state. We also ask to refrain from inviting Russian officials on the sanctions list/under travel ban to Switzerland and to reduce cooperation with Russia in the spirit of the international sanctions. Sincerely

The IMF Bows to Putin in Ukraine – Bloomberg View

By taking Russia’s side, the IMF is helping to destroy the private creditors‘ argument, backed by Moody’s on Monday, that Ukraine doesn’t need a reduction in the principal value of its debt. They say rescheduling payments would be enough to save $15.3 billion over four years — the goal set out in the IMF’s bailout program. The math doesn’t work, however, if Ukraine has to pay $3 billion to Russia this year.
